Got a question? We are here to help.
In the event of a power outage, please do the following:
In order to prevent extensive unplanned outages, we must perform regular maintenance and upgrades.
We make every effort to contact our members at least two days in advance of a Planned Power Outage for maintenance work or when new electrical service construction takes place.
When the trees overgrow into the power line, this can affect not only your personal property but other Lakeland Power Co-op members with unnecessary power outages and increased expenses.
If you notice that trees are getting close to or touching a powerline, please contact the office.
Any vegetation required to be trimmed underneath powerlines will be charged to the member based on our trimming rates.
There is no charge to completely remove the vegetation beneath powerlines to the ground. A site visit is required to evaluate the vegetation growth and receive landowner consent.
Your energy consumption is based on your electricity usage each month. In the winter months, your consumption increases due to a number of factors - increase in heating, lights, and plugging vehicles, watering bowls, etc.
In the summer months, consumption increases can be attributed to air conditioning units. By observing how to use your electricity and following a few guidelines, you can decrease your consumption each month and save money.
Visit our Energy Savings page for ideas that may help save you money.
Members who do not sign a contract for the stable (fixed) electricity rate are provided with the regulated rate option (RRO). The regulated rate reflects the current market price, which fluctuates up and down on a monthly basis making prices less predictable for members. The regulated rate will have higher price volatility, which van result in price spikes from one month to the next.
Members can sign a contract for our stable (fixed) rate for an energy rate that is consistent from month to month. Our stable rate is the lowest rate we can offer based on the purchased energy hedges we have in place for the period of the stable rate contract.
